Air Fried Chicken Sandwiches. Guys, these are GOOD.

Do you have an air fryer? We've had ours for a few years, and it's great for potato chips, fries, and reheating fried foods.

I haven't really experimented with creating recipes with our air fryer, but my husband took initiative and came up with these incredible air fried spicy chicken sandwiches.

I think I'll encourage him to use it more often.

    Air Fried Spicy Chicken Sandwiches

    About the Sandwiches

These sandwiches were crispy. They were moist. It was hard to believe these came out of an air fryer. But they did!

This is way healthier than a deep fryer and it's so unbelievably easy.

The key with this recipe is chicken thighs. Use boneless - but you have to use chicken thighs

First, you'll make a nice beer batter to dredge your chicken thighs in. Yum.

    Then, we'll fry.

While you're waiting for them to cook, whip up some spicy mayo. Slather it on a toasted bun, and you're good to go.

If you don't want to make the spicy mayo - Amazon has you covered. This brand is super good!

Have you tried my Quick Ragu Sauce yet? It's the perfect 30 - minute dinner that the whole family will love!

    Yum.

This was seriously a treat - we haven't had good chicken in a realllly long time.

You should make these soon. Really soon. And enjoy with a nice cold beer, because we're in a pandemic, right?

    Air Fried Chicken Sandwiches Ingredients

    For the Chicken

    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 tsp paprika
    • ½ tsp salt and black pepper
    • ½ tsp garlic powder
    • 1 beer (lager style is best!)
    • 1 egg
    • 2 lb boneless chicken thighs
    • yummy buns

    Spicy Mayo

    • 2 tbsp mayo
    • 2 tsp sriracha

    Directions

Whisk the flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, egg and beer well.

Dredge the chicken thighs in the batter. Set aside on a plate.

Liberally apply cooking spray to the trays in your air fryer. Add the chicken and fry at 400 degrees F for 15 minutes.

While chicken is frying, mix mayo and sriracha. Taste. If it's too spicy, add a bit more mayo. If it's not spicy enough, add more sriracha.

After 15 minutes, check that the internal temperature of the chicken has reached 165 degrees F. If not, transfer to the oven at 385 degrees until the chicken has safely reached a temp of 165 degrees F.

Serve on a toasted bun with spicy mayo and enjoy!
