    Why You'll Love this Recipe

It is delicious - The gooey brie cheese and the sweetness of the jam is such a great flavor combination.  After baking, top it with fresh strawberries and rosemary and you have the most delicious mix of flavors.

It is quick - This recipe is quick and very easy to make!  You simply place the brie on a baking sheet, top it with the preserves and bake it!  From start to finish, you can have this on the table for your guests in about 20 minutes.  Since it is one of the easiest recipes and it requires no special equipment, anyone can make this during the busy holiday season!

It looks festive - The red and green you get from the strawberry preserves and rosemary, really give this appetizer all the holiday vibes.  It is perfect to serve at holiday parties, but can easily be enjoyed any time of the year!

    Ingredients

Here are the ingredients you will need for this easy holiday appetizer:

    • Brie cheese: You will need one wheel of brie cheese. The creamy cheese has such an earthy flavor you'll love!
    • Strawberry preserves: Strawberry preserves are spooned on top of the brie before baking. Or, use strawberry jam or your favorite jam.
    • Strawberries: Fresh sliced strawberries go on top after the cheese is baked.
    • Rosemary: Fresh chopped rosemary is sprinkled on top after the brie is baked and it can also be placed around as a garnish.
    • Crackers: You will want to serve the baked brie with sturdy, plain crackers.  I prefer water crackers or Wheat Thins, but you can use any favorite crackers you have on hand.

Let's make this perfect appetizer together!  To begin, preheat the oven to 350°F and line a large baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper.

    Expert Tips and Tricks

Here are some expert tips to make this baked brie appetizer.

    • Bake in a small baking dish lined with parchment paper. This way you can serve it directly in the baking dish.
    • Transfer the brie from the baking sheet to a serving platter by picking up the parchment paper and setting it on a serving platter.  If you prefer to serve without the parchment paper, simply use a spatula to transfer the brie.
    • Garnish with rosemary sprigs for extra flavor and beauty!

    Recipe Substitutions/Variations

Here are some common recipe substitutions and variations for this easy recipe.

Substitutions: You could use any flavor of preserves you would like. Mixed berry, apricot jam, cranberry jam, or raspberry jam would all be great.   Top with dried fruit instead of fresh fruit.  If you want to add a touch of heat, try something like a strawberry jalapeno jam.

Additions: Add a sprinkle of chopped pecans or almonds on top of the preserves before baking for an added flavor and crunch.

Toppings: Garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs, a sprinkle of fresh thyme, other fresh herbs, a drizzle of honey, crunchy almonds or toasted pecans.

    What To Serve With

Here are some other holiday snacks to serve alongside this for a holiday party:

Bacon Wrapped Figs - Stuffed with cheese and wrapped with bacon, these figs are the perfect delicious bite.

Sausage and Cream Cheese Crescent Holiday Wreath - Savory sausage and soft cream cheese are perfect together in this easy holiday recipe.

White Cranberry Mulled Wine - This easy cocktail recipe is done in just 20 minutes.  With white wine and white cranberry juice, this mulled wine is a go-to holiday favorite

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to remove the rind from the brie?

No.  Leaving the brie rind on helps the cheese hold its shape and it is edible.  If you find that the rind is too pungent, you can simply peel it back and enjoy the gooey cheese on the inside.

Can I use something besides jam on the top?

Sure!  You could top your brie with honey to give it that sweet flavor and then garnish with your favorite fruits and/or nuts.

Could I serve this with bread?

Yes.  This would be great with toasted baguette slices.  You just want to be sure you are serving it with something that is strong enough for scooping and holding the melty cheese!
