It's officially the end of summer! Can you believe it?
Before you know it, the leaves will be turning. You'll be at football games. And the pumpkins will take over.
But why don't we celebrate these moments of the end of summer? Let's cherish them with one of my favorite things - an end of summer cheese board.
Cheese boards are so fun because they allow you to be creative! I love trying to find new parings to make each one even better.
This cheese board is one of my favorite things to enjoy outside, with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc or Chenin Blanc.
You'll start with a big wooden cutting board.
Follow this loose recipe below for how to create your perfect cheese board.
Perfect Cheese Board Ingredients
- block of brie cheese
- block of white cheddar cheese
- optional: 2 tbsp warmed honey
- block of goat cheese
- at least 2 kinds of crackers
- at least 1 spread (I used hummus but use your favorite dip or spread!)
- fresh herbs (I used rosemary)
- fresh figs
- berries
Directions
Place your cheese blocks on your cutting board. If you're using goat cheese, I like topping mine with 2 tbsp of warm honey, but this is optional.
Pro tip: if you're using brie, grill it!! Grill for about 3 minutes per side. It creates beautiful grill marks and is delicious.
Surround cheese with your crackers.
Add your dip/spread, figs, berries to your board.
Cut cheese with cheese knives to keep everything separate.
Garnish with your fresh herbs and serve with plenty of wine. Enjoy!
