Grapefruit Infused Tequila Old Fashioned. I promise you guys I'm not crazy. This cocktail is GOOD.

During this quarantine, my med-student husband has proven to be a fantastic baker and mixologist.

He is a man full of many talents, and he really never ceases to surprise me.

While (socially distanced, of course) grocery shopping this weekend, we came across some beautiful grapefruits. So beautiful that we had to buy them.

These grapefruits were huge! So I knew we would need a project for them.

Nick's first idea was "cocktails!" and I let him run with it.

    The result was fantastic!

This cocktail is sweet, but not too sweet. It has a hint of tequila, but it's not overpowering. I promise.

Looking for a way to spice up this weekend? Make my Sausage and Broccoli Frittata for brunch!

The trick is the grapefruit infused simple syrup. You'll combine 1 part water and 1 part sugar, simmered over medium-low heat. Then, add the flesh of one grapefruit and stir well. Let the flavors infuse for one hour - then strain. You've got grapefruit simple syrup ready to go.

I've decided this will be my spring and summer go-to cocktail.

Join me in sipping this delicious drink tonight!
