    Marinated Mozzarella Balls are a delicious and easy appetizer recipe! With fresh mozzarella pearls marinated in extra virgin olive oil and herbs, this is perfect for entertaining.

    Who doesn't love cheese? This super easy recipe comes together in minutes and is so great for entertaining.

    With fresh mozzarella pearls, olive oil, and herbs, this recipe is incredibly flavorful and so delicious.

    This would be delicious topped with fresh herbs and a splash of balsamic vinegar. Yum!

    We love serving this with fresh Italian bread from our local Italian bakery. Or, make some crostini and serve a spoonful on each slice of crusty bread. This is also a great addition to any cheese board!

    Ingredients

    Here are the ingredients you will need for this recipe:

    • Mini Mozzarella Pearls - I find these mini fresh mozzarella balls in the cheese section at my local grocery store. These are also called ciliegine mozzarella. If you can't find mini mozzarella balls, you can always used sliced mozzarella cut in small pieces.
    • Extra-Virgin Olive Oil - make sure it's good quality!
    • Fresh Garlic - minced
    • Fresh Parsley - finely chopped
    • Basil - dried or fresh basil
    • Oregano - dried or fresh oregano
    • Thyme - dried or fresh thyme
    • Red Pepper Flakes - for a tiny kick, add more if you like it spicy!
    • Kosher Salt
    • Black Pepper

    Directions

    Let's make this recipe together!

    Step 1 - Combine Ingredients

    Combine all ingredients into a large mason jar or large glass container.

    Step 2 - Marinate

    Marinate in the refrigerator for at least one hour up to one day.

    Serve in a large bowl with fresh Italian bread or crostini. Or, top individual crostini with a spoonful of mozzarella pearls for a bite sized perfect appetizer.

    Mason Jars - I find it easiest to make this with large mason jars. It makes clean up and leftover storage super easy!

    Extra Virgin Olive Oil - This brand is one of my favorite extra virgin olive oils. It has an amazing flavor that will elevate any recipe.

    Make it Spicy - Make these marinated mozzarella balls spicy by adding extra red pepper flakes to achieve your desired spice level.

    Add Lemon - Add freshly squeezed lemon juice for a tangy citrus bite to the dish.

    Herb Variations - You can use different herbs in this recipe - dill, rosemary, and sage would all be delicious!

    • 16 oz mini mozzarella balls drained
    • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
