It's June, and there's no sweeter way to celebrate summer than with a Strawberry Galette.
Galettes are one of my favorite treats. They're versatile - you can make a sweet galette full of fruit, or a savory one with cheese or meat.
I love a good apple galette in the fall. There's something about a pumpkin spiced apple galette that celebrates the leaves changing perfectly.
But no matter how you choose to make a galette, the flaky, buttery crust just gets me every time. It's SO good.
Strawberries are abundant right now at grocery stores, and with a great $1 sale on packs of these delicious berries, I knew I had to make something.
Why not a strawberry galette?!
You can make your own pastry for this recipe, or if you want to save some time, buy pre-made puff pastry! It'll be just as delicious and save you another mess in the kitchen. (If you want to make the dough yourself - check out this easy recipe!)
I chose to make mini galettes, but you can make a big one if you prefer!
No matter how you eat these, they're guaranteed to be delicious.
Ingredients
- 3 cups strawberries, sliced
- ¼ cup agave
- ¼ cup strawberry or raspberry jam
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 sheet thawed puff pastry
Strawberry Galette Recipe
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
In a large bowl, combine sliced strawberries, agave, jam, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
Roll out your puff pastry.
If making small galettes, put the puff pastry in quarters. Arrange the strawberry mixture on each section of puff pastry, leaving ½ in of pastry on each side.
If making a large galette, arrange the strawberry mixture on the puff pastry, leaving 1 in of pastry on each side.
After strawberries are arranged, fold the edges of the pastry over the strawberries. Pinch the folds with your fingers.
Bake the galette for 30 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden-brown. Don't worry if a little bit of juice runs out - it will still taste delicious!
