  • 1 large ahi tuna steak
  • 2 tbsp canola oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • juice of one lime
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • juice of one lime
  • sesame seeds for topping
  • cilantro for topping


  • Pat your ahi tuna dry. Season with salt and pepper on both sides. Heat a cast iron skillet on medium heat and add canola oil. Allow oil to warm for one minute.
  • Add your ahi tuna to the pan. Let sear about 3 minutes on each side to achieve a good sear. Or if you like it more well done, cook until desired wellness.
  • When ahi is done, remove from the pan and set aside. Combine your sauce ingredients and stir well.
  • Cut your ahi tuna in slices and arrange on a plate. Drizzle the sauce over ahi tuna. Top with sesame seeds and cilantro. Serve with sticky white rice.
