Preheat oven to 400F. Grease a large 3 qt baking dish.
Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add Italian sausage and cook until browned, about 8 minutes.
Next, add the onion and celery and cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently until soft. Add salt, pepper, thyme, and garlic powder and stir well. Add broth and remove from heat.
Slowly add bread and beaten eggs. I usually add ¼th of the bread and eggs and mix everything together well. Continue this pattern, adding ¼th of the bread and eggs, until everything is in your pot and mixed very well.
Add parmesan cheese and stir to combine. Transfer stuffing to prepared baking dish and cover with foil. Bake for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for 15 minutes, until golden brown.
