Melt butter in a pan over medium heat. Place slices of bread on the pan.
Top each slice of bread with a slice of provolone. Let cheese melt for 2 minutes.
When cheese is melty, reduce heat to medium-low. Add bolognese sauce on one slice of bead. Add parmesan cheese and basil, then top with the second slice of bread. Heat for a few minutes, until the bolognese sauce is warmed.
Serve with additional basil.
