Pat your ahi tuna dry. Season with salt and pepper on both sides. Heat a cast iron skillet on medium heat and add canola oil. Allow oil to warm for one minute.
Add your ahi tuna to the pan. Let sear about 3 minutes on each side to achieve a good sear. Or if you like it more well done, cook until desired wellness.
When ahi is done, remove from the pan and set aside. Combine your sauce ingredients and stir well.
Cut your ahi tuna in slices and arrange on a plate. Drizzle the sauce over ahi tuna. Top with sesame seeds and cilantro. Serve with sticky white rice.
